The full-time, non-administrative Assistant Professor holds either a 10-month or 12-month appointment with all rights and responsibilities of faculty appointment. Primary responsibility focuses on providing instruction in Anatomy & Physiology Labs and an effective environment for student learning, service and scholarship.

Responsibilities

JOB FUNCTION

  1. Mission Engagement
    1. Actively engages in the Catholic and Franciscan mission and identity of ÇàÇà²ÝÊÓÆµ by modeling the Franciscan Values, promoting justice from the communities we serve, and integrating the Catholic and Franciscan intellectual traditions in courses, programs, and services.
  2. Teaching
    1. Implements curricular and instructional interventions
    2. Develops student learning outcomes
    3. Utilizes peer review and coaching
  3. Teaching
    1. Applies what has been learned from formative and summative feedback on instruction
    2. Engages in professional development activities to promote development in the scholarship of teaching and learning
  4. Advising
    1. Reflects on summative students’ evaluation of academic advising experience
    2. Assesses reports and perceptions of peers and others regarding fidelity to academic advising roles and responsibilities
  5. Contribution to role-related knowledge base
    1. Presents at local, state, national and international professional conferences
    2. Demonstrates publication of works identifying type (i.e., peer review), audience (i.e., journal and journal distribution), and focus (i.e., discovery, application and/or integrated knowledge focus)
  6. Contribution to role-related knowledge base
    1. Demonstrates citations of own work(s) in others’ works
    2. Solicits and participates in funded research (identifying specific role, funding source, and status of project)
  7. Professional Service
    1. Participates in local, state, national, or international professional agencies
  8. Community Service
    1. Actively participates in community groups and organizations, as related to the College’s mission
  9. Institutional Service
    1. Participates in committee work at the program, school, or institutional level (delineate roles and nature of participation)

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE

At least one (1) year of teaching experience

EDUCATION

Master’s Degree and successful completion of 18 credit hours graduate study in a related discipline

SPECIAL SKILLS

Strong organizational and communication skills
