ÇàÇà²ÝÊÓƵ (FranU) is excited to announce it is a recipient of $2.2 million Department of Education Title III Strengthening Institutions grant to fund Project FRANCIS (Faithfully Retaining, Advancing, Nurturing, and Cultivating Indispensable Students). This initiative aims to improve student success through a wide array of activities.
Project FRANCIS will provide a comprehensive set of support services for students enrolled in pre-clinical and clinical programs to help them persist to graduation. Key components of the project include a summer bridge program, academic coaching, professional tutoring, and peer mentoring. These services will largely support students in their first and second years, helping them succeed in critical and gateway courses.
The goals of Project FRANCIS are to strengthen pathways for FranU students from pre-clinical into clinical programs, improve academic outcomes for students enrolled in FranU’s nursing program, and grow undergraduate enrollment to continue supplying the region with needed healthcare professionals.
"Project FRANCIS aligns with FranU's mission to educate and form Franciscan servant leaders of all faiths," said Dr. Brian Rash, Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at FranU. "By providing targeted support to our students, we aim to improve retention and graduation rates, ultimately benefiting our community and the healthcare industry."
