Ƶ recognized student and faculty research during the Fall 2025 Research and Scholarship Showcase held December 1-5 in St. Francis Hall.

Master of Science in Nutritional Sciences, Psychology and Nursing students presented a record of 54 research posters throughout the week. Of the 54 posters displayed, 24 were undergraduate projects representing 54 student authors. Graduate students presented 22 posters with 30 authors. Faculty contributed eight posters with 26 authors.

Fall 2025 RSS Award Winners

  • Best Undergraduate Poster (tie):

“Analytical Detection of Xylazine and Fentanyl Using Gas Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS)” by Tori Baudry, Carmen Nichols and William Sheffield

“Evaluating the Accuracy of Labeled SPF Values Using UV–Vis Spectrophotometry and the Mansur Equation” by Zaynah Abdul-Aziz, Catherine Alexander and William Sheffield

  • Best Graduate Poster:

“Integration of Hands-on Diagnostic Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Education into Entry Level Doctor of Physical Therapy Programs: A Case Study” by Megan Benoit, Luke Romano and Phil Page

  • Best Faculty Poster:

“Simulation Best Practices: A Survey Amongst Nutrition and Dietetic Educators and Preceptors” by Kathryn Fakier, Sara Tamsukhin, Sherry Foret, Aimee Serio, Sandra Mayol-Kreiser and Maria Plant

“The RSC of FranU hosts two Research and Scholarship Showcases each year. It’s an opportunity for our students and faculty to share their scholarship and stimulate future research across the University,” said Dr. Phillip Page, Doctor of Physical Therapy Professor and Research Director. “Council co-chair Dr. Bill Schreiter did a great job coordinating a record of 54 posters for the week. The event continues to grow, signifying FranU’s commitment to supporting research and scholarship. Congratulations to all who participated!”
