For Owen Haviland, FranU’s Dual Enrollment program helped him realize his passions and paved the way towards a successful future.
Inspired by his brother Sam, who had previously been in the program, Haviland saw FranU’s Dual Enrollment option as the right opportunity to challenge himself and get a head start.
Balancing high school and college coursework isn’t always easy, but Haviland’s support system held him steady.
“When things did get tough, my mom, other classmates and sometimes my brother were able to help me out.”
That encouragement, paired with his own motivation, has helped him build confidence to take on college-level work.
“I think taking dual enrollment classes has encouraged me that I am ready for college more than any talk could. Hearing that you're ready is one thing; seeing that you are is another.”
In addition to the academic opportunities, he says FranU’s atmosphere has made a lasting impression.
“The main thing about the FranU community that draws me in is how welcoming they are.”
Through the courses he’s taken, the dual enrollment student has discovered a growing interest in physical therapy. He’s especially excited to learn more about FranU’s Accelerated Doctor of Physical Therapy Program as he looks to the future.
FranU’s Dual Enrollment program gives high school students the chance to earn college credit in a supportive, student-centered environment. Whether they’re exploring new subjects or preparing for a specific path, the program helps students build a strong academic foundation and gain real college experience.
