Marketing & Communications Department

The Department of Marketing and Communications supports and promotes the mission and image of ÇàÇà²ÝÊÓÆµ to internal and external audiences. The mission of the Office of Marketing and Communications is to develop marketing and communications strategies, in cooperation with appropriate University departments, to increase brand awareness, enrollment and fundraising among target audiences.

Services We Offer

Our services include news releases, advertising, photography, videography, social media management, event promotion, graphic design, publication, internal communications, content strategy and creation, public relations and web services.

Our Team

Kaye A. Self, BA
Director of Marketing and Communications

Kaye A. Self is an accomplished marketing and communications professional with over 15 years of experience in public relations, branding and strategic storytelling. Since joining the University in 2020, she has played a pivotal role in enhancing brand awareness.

As the Director of Marketing and Communications at FranU since 2022, Kaye leads initiatives that strengthen the University's presence and connect with key audiences. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication with a specialization in Public Relations and Print from Nicholls State University. With a blend of creative vision and strategic execution, she is dedicated to driving growth and fostering meaningful engagement.

Taylor L. Crochet, MS
Marketing Specialist 2

Taylor L. Crochet is FranU’s photographer and marketing specialist. She combines creative strategy with visual storytelling to promote FranU’s academic programs and attract a diverse student population. With a deep appreciation for Catholic higher education and the people who bring it to life, she captures the essence of campus, showcasing the dynamic community and mission of FranU.

Taylor holds a Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from Nicholls State University and is a proud FranU alum, having earned her Master of Science in Nutritional Sciences. She returned to her alma mater in Spring 2023 to assume the role of Marketing Specialist, where she plays a key role in strengthening the University’s brand recognition.

Shanna O'Quinn Murphy, BS
Webmaster

Shanna O'Quinn Murphy is the Webmaster at FranU, where she is responsible for ensuring the website’s functionality, user experience, and accessibility align with the University’s mission to provide quality education.

After graduating in 2024 with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Southeastern Louisiana University, Shanna began her role as the Webmaster at FranU the same year. She brings a strong foundation in technology, problem-solving, and web development to her position. She also takes the lead in implementing SEO strategies to enhance the site’s visibility and improve its search engine rankings. By working closely with various departments, Shanna plays a key role in making updates and optimizing the website to meet the needs of students, faculty, and prospective visitors.

Makayla L. Chamberlain
Marketing and Communications Intern

Makayla L. Chamberlain is the Marketing and Communications Intern at FranU. She is a mass communication major at Louisiana State University, focusing on public relations with a passion for connecting people through purposeful storytelling. With experience in media writing, digital marketing, and visual communication, she brings creativity and attention to detail to every project.

After graduating in May 2025, Makayla plans to continue her education as a master's student in LSU's Flores MBA program. Alongside getting her degree, she is developing experience in her current position, where she is determined to make a meaningful impact by using her skills to form connections and elevate brand visibility.
